Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Will the entire electronic security system fail if the building experiences a sudden power outage?
No. Our core equipment (such as CCTV servers, access control hosts, and LoRaWAN gateways) are all equipped with enterprise-grade Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems and backup batteries. Even in the event of a total building blackout, the system can maintain critical operations for several hours. It will immediately send a “Power Interruption Alert” to the 24/7 Central Control Centre, and we will instantly dispatch our mobile support fleet to the site to ensure safety.
The system relies on a large number of Internet of Things (IoT) devices. Is the network architecture secure? Is it vulnerable to hacking?
We utilize enterprise-grade network infrastructure and strict cybersecurity standards. All surveillance footage and sensor data are transmitted through encrypted channels (such as VPNs). We also implement VLAN isolation at the network level, completely separating the security network from the building’s general guest network. Additionally, our “Predictive Maintenance Service” includes regular vulnerability scanning and firmware security updates, fundamentally preventing cyberattacks and data breaches.
If the building's broadband network goes down, will the Central Control Centre lose the video feeds?
Our system features a “Dual-Network Redundancy Mechanism.” In addition to the building’s main fixed broadband, the core communication modules have built-in 4G/5G backup networks. Once a main network interruption is detected, the system seamlessly switches to the mobile network within seconds, ensuring that alert signals and live video feeds remain constantly connected to the Central Control Centre without interruption.
Who handles emergencies like fires or burst water pipes if there are no security guards on-site?
The reaction speed of an electronic system far exceeds that of human manpower. Our “Air Quality & Fire Monitoring System” and “Water Leak Detection System” can detect anomalies within seconds during the early stages of a disaster. In the event of a water leak, the system can even automatically shut off the main water valve and raise the elevators to the top floor for safety. Simultaneously, the Central Control Centre will immediately pinpoint the exact floor of the incident, contact the Fire Services Department or maintenance personnel at the first instance, and dispatch our mobile fleet to assist on-site within 15 minutes, minimizing losses.
What happens if someone gets trapped in the elevator in the middle of the night and there is no lobby guard?
Our “Elevator Emergency Communication System” is designed specifically for this scenario. Passengers simply press the emergency call button in the elevator to connect directly to the 24/7 Central Control Centre. Professionals will verify the situation via micro-cameras, calm the passengers’ nerves, and immediately initiate a three-way coordinated response: notifying the elevator maintenance contractor, dispatching our mobile support fleet to the building, and calling the police on their behalf if necessary.
Will the AI monitoring system frequently trigger false alarms (e.g., from passing stray cats or leaves blowing in the wind)?
Traditional motion detection is indeed prone to false alarms, but we utilize AI video edge computing technology equipped with deep learning capabilities. The system can accurately recognize “human skeletal structures” and “abnormal behavioral patterns,” automatically filtering out small animals, lighting changes, or the activities of routine cleaning staff. It only triggers alerts to the control center when a genuine intrusion threat is confirmed.
Will the initial setup cost be very high to upgrade to this fully automated electronic security system?
Taking a long-term view, this is an investment with an extremely high return. Compared to the continuously rising costs of night-shift guard salaries, MPF (Mandatory Provident Fund), insurance, and recruitment, the electronic system involves a one-time hardware investment plus a fixed monthly cloud service fee. Most commercial buildings can reach the break-even point within a few months to a year after system implementation, significantly reducing overall operational expenses in the years to follow.
Does installing the system require the building to suspend operations or undergo massive rewiring work?
No. We extensively utilize LoRaWAN low-power wide-area network technology and wireless sensors. Their strong signal penetration significantly reduces the need for traditional rewiring that disrupts building décor. Our engineering team will schedule seamless installations during off-peak hours or in sections, ensuring the building’s daily operations remain uninterrupted.
Can I keep the morning-shift security guards and only use this system at night?
Absolutely. Our system is highly flexible, and this is currently the preferred transition plan for many commercial buildings. You can retain physical guards during the day for reception and customer service, and fully hand over the building to the electronic system and the E-Call emergency network at night when foot traffic drops to zero, effectively optimizing manpower allocation.
